Since the Divine Comedy is technically RPF (Virgil, anyone?) and a self-insert, one could count it as fanfic and therefore make a case for recruiting the Divine Comedy version of Dante.

Technically, he's a major canon character and a major Real World author, even if the canon is mercifully ignored by almost all of the Pit. I mean - would you conscript Tolkien to the PPC cause by travelling back in time and kidnapping him?

It's just that it seemed to jump out of left field rather, you see? Maybe you could tell us a little more about him (I'm presuming)?
Or perhaps he could be adopted as a patron saint of PPC-the saint of retribution.
